COVID-19 help for Businesses: Extended Restrictions Grant (Uk)

This is a discretionary grant scheme for COVID-19 help for Businesses that remained closed or were severely impacted by the government’s decision to delay stage 4 of its roadmap out of lockdown.

The Extended Restrictions Grant scheme relates specifically for businesses affected by the extension of restrictions from 21 June 2021 to, and including 18 July 2021. Businesses that meet the eligibility criteria will receive a one-off payment, in recognition that these businesses were able to continue trading but were not able to trade fully during this period.

Available Funding

  • £2,000 for Business occupies property with a rateable value of £15,000;
  • £3,000 for Business occupies property with a rateable value over £15,000 but less than £51,000;
  • £4,500 for Business occupies property with a rateable value £51,000 or more.

Eligibility

The scheme is open to both businesses operating from a property registered on the Council’s business rates system, and those without business-rated premises.

The business must have been trading between 21 June 2021 and 18 July 2021 and must still be trading.

To be eligible a business must fit under one of the following:

  • Travel agents;
  • Tour or group travel operator;
  • Pet boarding businesses;
  • Nightclubs;
  • Theatres and cinemas;
  • Conference centres and exhibition centres including for use as banquet halls and other events;
  • Wedding venues which include hotels, country houses, and wedding barns;
  • Events venues excluding village halls and community centres;
  • Event organisers;
  • Businesses which directly supply the weddings/civil partnerships or events venues including florists, event caterers, decorations, party / tableware suppliers, marquee hire, outfitters (including wedding/civil partnership dresses or tailored suits), wedding photography service, DJ’s, bands and music professionals’, wedding vehicles.

Businesses must apply to the Council via an online form in order to be considered for grant payment.

If an application is submitted with insufficient evidence or information, it will be refused. Please note, there is no right of appeal and the Council’s original decision will be final.
